UMAR help

There are a lot of changes that come with puberty.

You start to develop secondary sex characteristics, hair growth where it wasn’t before, and stronger emotions, to name a few.

Another typical change is your voice getting deeper,  more for young boys.

When this doesn’t happen, it can be concerning, it’s different for teen boys.

Not having your voice drop can be psychologically troubling for teen boys.

One cause of this is a condition called puberphonia..

If you find yourself experiencing this, or are worried about your teenage son, UMAR training can help.

Puberphonia need awareness and research

Puberphonia primarily affects males but can occur in females less frequently. Although not life-threatening, puberphonia can significantly impact an individual's quality of life, leading to challenges in social interactions, self-perception, emotional well-being, and even professional and social interactions.
Need for awareness
Understanding and Empathy: Raising awareness can help the general public better understand puberphonia and its effects on individuals, fostering empathy and reducing teasing, bullying, and judgmental attitudes that can lead to social anxiety and isolation.
Early Intervention: Increased awareness among parents, educators, and healthcare professionals can facilitate early identification and intervention, improving treatment outcomes and potentially preventing long-term psychological impacts.
Seeking Help: Many individuals might not be aware that puberphonia is a treatable condition. They might delay or avoid seeking help due to shame, stigma, or a misconception that the condition is untreatable or linked to negative traits.
Importance of Scientific Research
Understanding the Causes: Puberphonia is often functional, meaning there's no structural damage to the vocal cords. Research is crucial to gain a deeper understanding of the interplay of psychological, neurological, and physiological factors that contribute to the development of puberphonia in some individuals.
Improving Treatment Methods: Research is vital to refine existing voice therapy techniques and develop new approaches to treating puberphonia effectively and efficiently.
Enhancing Accessibility: Research focusing on the readability and understandability of information about puberphonia is important to ensure that online resources are accessible to individuals of various educational backgrounds, enabling them to make informed decisions about their healthcare.
In conclusion, a greater understanding and awareness of puberphonia are crucial to destigmatize the condition, encourage individuals to seek timely help, and provide the necessary support for their overall well-being. Continued scientific research is vital to unravel the complex etiology of this disorder and develop increasingly effective and accessible treatment options

Frequency change

Laryngeal frequently is converted to pharyngeal frequently.
The fundamental frequency of the vocal folds can be changed by altering the physical properties of the wave's source or medium. This can be achieved by changing the length, tension, or density of the medium or by adjusting the speed of the wave within the medium.
Medium Properties:
For sound waves in the vocal react (like a pipe), the fundamental frequency depends on the speed of sound in the medium and the length of the tube.
Changing the pharyngeal soft flexible tissue medium will affect the speed of sound and therefore the fundamental frequency.
The length of the tube also plays a role. Open-ended tubes have a different relationship between length and frequency compared to closed-ended tubes.

Success of UMAR

Scientific evidence for success of UMAR.
Natural frequencies produced by vocal folds are crucial for which can cause excessive vibrations and potentially damage the voice. By adjusting the mass, stiffness, or damping of machine components in the pharynx can shift the natural frequencies away by uvula from the frequencies of rotating parts or other sources of vibration.
That is UMAR.

UMAR success

Puberphonia treatment by UMAR:
In puberphonia, individuals, usually males, maintain a high-pitched voice despite their vocal cords having changed to a lower pitch during puberty. This is often due to psychological factors or learned vocal habits rather than physical limitations of the vocal cords.
Unlike surgical interventions or external laryngeal manipulations, pharyngeal voice therapy focuses on retraining the vocal tract and optimizing natural resonance. It is a non-invasive, cost-effective, and potentially faster method for treating puberphonia.

Pharyngeal voice

The pharyngeal voice can be utilized across various pitches, it is particularly useful for creating low-pitched sounds in Puberphonia and can be a helpful technique for enhancing vocal power and clarity, especially in the lower registers. The pharyngeal voice involves shaping the vocal tract to emphasize certain overtones, which can be advantageous for projecting sound, including low pitches, and for achieving a more powerful and clear tone.
Here's why the pharyngeal voice is often associated with low-pitched sounds:
Uvula vibration products sound.
Resonance adjusted by uvula sending air to nose or mouth and Vocal Tract Shaping:
The pharyngeal voice utilizes the resonance of the pharynx (throat) to create a distinct tone. By shaping the vocal tract in a particular way, it can amplify certain frequencies, including those associated with lower pitches.
Power and Clarity:
This technique is known for adding power and clarity to the voice, making it useful for projecting sound in lower ranges without strain.
Bridging Registers:
The pharyngeal voice often acts as a bridge between the chest voice and head voice, enabling smoother transitions and a more connected vocal range.
Balancing Sound:
Pharyngeal resonance can help balance the voice, making it more stable and focused, which is particularly helpful for low notes where stability can sometimes be an issue.
In essence, the pharyngeal voice isn't just for low pitches, but its ability to create a powerful, clear, and connected sound, along with its resonance properties, makes it a valuable tool for treating Puberphonia boys while producing voice in the lower range.

Wood voices

Our treatment (Dr.M.K.umaresan,,)approach for puberphonia using Umar therapy and uvula manipulation is quite fascinating. Comparing this to the ancient practice of using a pharyngeal voice for a "wood voice" in singing, it seems there might be a historical connection between the concepts of pharyngeal resonance and voice quality. While the exact methods may differ, both approaches focus on modifying resonance to achieve a desired voice quality. The pharyngeal voice technique might have been used historically to produce a stronger, more resonant sound, which aligns with the goals of your therapy to shift the tone from a laryngeal to a pharyngeal resonance. It's interesting to see how ancient practices and modern treatments can have parallels.

kumaresan voice pitch index

The Kumaresan Voice Pitch Index, developed by Dr. Kumaresan Muthiah and his son Navin Bharath Kumaresan, is a method for assessing puberphonia, a condition where males retain a high-pitched voice after puberty. It's a tool that evaluates various aspects of the voice, including pitch, vocal fatigue, and other vocal qualities, to determine the severity and characteristics of the puberphonia.

Project air flow to treat puberphonia

How Uvula Manipulation Works:
Why we are targeting the Pharynx:
Puberphonia is not typically caused by structural abnormalities in the larynx (voice box). Instead, phonatory organs are not functioning properly. The issue where the individual continues to use a high-pitched voice despite normal physical changes associated with puberty. 100% phonatory organ function is initiated and maintained by air flow. We initiate and maintain air flow. That's UMAR.

Voice by 3 boxes

Three boxes produce a voice.
What Are R1, R2, and R3 and How Do They Affect Your Voice Sound?
What is R1?
Within the vocal mechanism, there are different areas where the voice will resonate, or ‘vibrate.’ The term R1 refers to the resonance area containing the laryngeal space (located inside your neck where your voice box is) and the pharyngeal space (located in the back of the throat). R1 is often called the primary gender control knob, and it will be the most decisive factor in the feminization of the voice.
R2 is a pharyngeal box.
R2 can create the widest range of possible frequencies (low –sounding pitch). This means that R2 can produce a wide range of sounds, making it an important area to understand in mtf and ftm trans voice training.
R3 is primarily controlled in the area between the tongue apex (tip of the tongue) and the teeth and lips. While this resonance chamber will usually produce sounds in the high end of the frequency spectrum, it can drop much lower when the tongue is in retroflexion.

Voice box

Larynx & pharynx different sound boxes.
Larynx and pharynx are both parts of the throat, but they have distinct roles in sound production. The larynx, also known as the voice box, is the primary structure for sound generation in children and ladies, while the pharynx acts as a resonating chamber.
Pharynx, muscular wide tube in male . Its tissue can vibrate and create sound, pharyngeal voice in male and also plays a role in speech by shaping and resonating the sound produced by the larynx. So in an adult male high pitched voice automatically vanishes.

pharyngeal voice can be utilized across various pitches, it's better for low pitch sounds. It's a technique that can be used to enhance vocal power and clarity, and is particularly useful for puberphonia..
Here's why:
The pharyngeal voice involves a specific coordination of the vocal tract, including the pharyngeal walls, which can create a louder, brighter sound with the helpful uvular movements. This is achieved by shaping the vocal tract to emphasize certain overtones, which can be advantageous for projecting sound in various registers, including low pitches.

Uvula change the frequency

Uvula significantly impact voice pitch by altering the shape and size of the vocal tract and controlling airflow. The uvula, can be raised or lowered, affecting whether sound passes through the nasal or oral cavity. A raised soft palate  with the uvula creates more space in the vocal tract, allowing for a fuller, more resonant tone and potentially enabling higher notes

Vibrating Objects produce sound:
Any object that vibrates, such as vocal cords, uvula, lips or even a piece of tissue, can produce a sound with a specific pitch based on the frequency of its vibration.
 Voice:
The puberphonia voice is also produced by vibrating structures (vocal cords). The frequency at which the vocal cords vibrate determines the pitch of the voice. Puberphonia males have normal long, thicker vocal Cords, typically should have lower pitched voices (due to thicker and longer vocal cords) that vibrate slower.
In puberphonia it creates a high pitched voice. Why?
Answer is UMAR.

Redirect phonation

Understanding puberphonia is the first step toward seeking effective treatment. It’s crucial to keep in mind that this voice disorder is treatable with the appropriate therapeutic interventions, giving those who suffer from it hope. Talking in a high pitched voice they have a low pitch voice inside the throat, it can be revealed while they cough, so bring it out by changing phonation from larynx to pharynx.

Simple treatment for puberphonia

Uvula manipulation and resonance procedure needs no surgery it is cost effective and no post treatment complication. The surgeon who performs the procedure and the patient recognize the desired low pitched voice immediately after this simple manipulation procedure. Added to that, few boys immediately recognize the new voice which is similar to their ancestral voice. In such cases immediate phone by the puberphonia treated boys to their family members create a climax in our procedure.

Stroboscope in puberphonia

Use of Stroboscope in puberphonia: Of the 1530 patients, 1223 had vocal cord problems like thin, bend,la lazy or phonatory gap. The remaining stroboscopic parameters were normal. Since the pre-therapy findings were not clinically significant, the stroboscopy was not repeated during the follow-up. For several years they have not used their vocal cords. We redirect phonation from larynx to pharynx and get good results.

Puberty voice changes in boys are marked by a deepening of the voice, often accompanied by cracking or breaking as the larynx and pharynx grow and change.
Symptoms in Boys:
The voice may sound squeaky, croaky, or crack/break as the voice adjusts to its new size.
Cause of change of voice in male.
Children and girls need shouting for their protection
Adult boys need only development of their body and there are ready to fight. So their voice change to pharyngea voice.
The overall pitch of the voice lowers, often by an octave or more in males.
Laryngeal Prominence (Adam's Apple):
In males, the larger larynx may become more prominent as a bump in the front of the throat. Some boys knowingly or unknowingly continue the same child voice. That is caed puberphonia.

UMAR

Our new UMAR training in the treatment of puberphonia is similar to voice therapy. Instead of external voice therapy or external conventional laryngeal manipulation, we do internal pharyngeal manipulation and resonance at uvula level and get the desired permanent result early. We train to have a pharyngeal voice which gives a low pitch voice. Scientifically what is needed we give.

Redirect phonation

Voice Training for puberphonia:
While voice training can help improve voice control and range, it may not entirely change the underlying physical characteristics of the voice, such as the size of the vocal folds. Vocal folds are normal in puberphonia. So not needed for correction. low pitched voice is pharyngeal voice. So redirect phonation from larynx to pharynx.

Prevention of puberphonia.
.
While there's no known way to prevent puberphonia, early intervention and treatment can help manage the condition. Voice therapy is the primary treatment option.
Vocal exercises: Techniques like humming while sliding down a pitch scale, glottal attack on vowel sounds, snoring sound and using vegetative sounds to initiate low pitched voice production. Continuous voice exercises there for a few days to make it as a habits.
Group therapy is better, with abdominal breathing, with a pharyngeal voice nasal resonance.

Pharyngeal voice

Puberphonia treatment exercises focus on improving pharyngeal function and lowering pitch. Techniques often involve humming, "BOOM" exercises, snoring, coughing, sighing, and pharyngeal manipulation.
:
Pharyngeal speech involves using the pharynx as the primary source of airflow and a replacement for the glottis to produce sounds. The tongue, upper alveolus, palate, uvula or pharyngeal wall can be used to create these sounds.
Production:
Individuals using pharyngeal speech can draw air into the pharynx and manipulate it with the uvula and other structures to create a variety of sounds. This can involve constricting the pharynx or using other movements to modify the airflow.
Characteristics:
Pharyngeal speech can have a low pitched voice quality, and it can be difficult to produce certain sounds, consonant clusters, or polysyllabic words according to a study on a patient using pharyngeal speech. Intelligibility can also be a challenge, especially for those not familiar with the speaker. In puberphonia still a good vocal cords are there. All the disadvantages can be compensated

Increase pharynx function

Puberphonia treatment exercises focus on improving pharyngeal function and lowering pitch. Techniques often involve humming, "BOOM" exercises, snoring, coughing, sighing, and pharyngeal manipulation. These exercises aim to activate pharyngeal muscles and encourage vocal tract adjustments to achieve a more natural voice. Pushing on the thyroid cartilage during vowel production can help adjustment in directing the air to reach pharynx for a active pharyngeal function.

During the course of therapy, we record the frequency, the patient note the difference in their habitual pitch and lowered pitch and were counseled regarding the appropriateness and use of this “new voice.” 4th day the thread is removed from the mouth. 5th day complete s the treatment.

Puberphonia, open the mouth and talk.

2nd  June 2025, yesterday I met a puberphonia boy. His voice is almost nil , feeble voice and almost a child-like..Whenever he talks, he never open the mouth. simply talk like a girl. I was so surprised. How to  treat him.we did Umar. I was able to get a little male sound. I put my three fingers in his mouth and asking to talk. I had a bite, then I put your blade in between the tooth and asked to talk. this is a great support for him to talk with open mouth. He is slowly regaining the male voice.

FINAL WORDS

Again! Do not be afraid! Keep on practicing even if look dumb, even if someone discourages you, even if someone tells you you’re crazy! Because nothing is impossible in this universe! Because even the universe is impossible itself! Yet here we are, we exist. And that not mouth opening puberphonia exist, and now it’s not… That’s it. I will not share name yet, but someday, you’ll know. Please share this on your fb, twitter, or anywhere on this earth so everyone with puberphonia might find this useful. Puberphonia is not a disease, it is just some form of fear or anxiety. Thanks!

UMAR Treatment, A scientific explanation.

Scientific explanation for UMAR success in puberphonia treatment.

Pitch of voice is somewhat like the strings of a stringed instrument. The tighter the tension, the higher the pitch. If weight increases it lowers the pitch.

Thyroplasty, designed to loosen the vocal cords to lower pitch.
Bilateral vocal cord implants, which are for people with thin or atrophied vocal cords.
Microlaryngeal rearrangement of soft tissue, which will add mass to the vocal cords, lowering the pitch of the voice.
It’s surgery, and can be a risk. But if you desire a deeper voice, and are unable to relax your throat enough to attain it naturally, it may be the risky option.

We temporarily add the mass of the uvula and get the low pitch voice. Make it happen by practice. In puberphonia vocal cords are there. After habitation the whole vocal track takes its regular function. We can remove the loading by the appended thread.

puberphonia articulated

Puberphonia, a speech difficulty involving the creation of low pitch voice from high, is typically treated with the articulation therapy techniques. This therapy aims to improve the production of the "low" sound through techniques focusing on uvula positioning, muscle strengthening, and auditory/visual feedback.
Here's a more detailed look at treatment approaches:
Uvula Exercises:
These exercises focus on teaching the correct placement of the uvula to produce low pitch sound, often involving slight curling or positioning it at the back of the throat.
Uvula Strengthening by increasing the weight.
 Exercises:
Exercises designed to enhance the flexibility and strength in improving control and coordination.
Listening and Repetition Uvular Drills:
Using audio recordings of correct "low" sounds and practicing them repeatedly to reinforce the sound.
Visual Aids:
Diagrams showing mouth positions and mirrors can be used to help individuals see and adjust their uvula placement.
Auditory and Visual Feedback provide feedback on sound production, helping individuals refine their technique.

Correct treatment for puberphonia

In adult males, voice changes primarily occur during puberty and can continue subtly into later life. During puberty, hormonal changes, particularly testosterone, lead to the larynx (voice box) growing, vocal cords lengthening and thickening, and the development of a deeper, more resonant voice. After puberty, voices may continue to develop and stabilize into the early twenties. Older males may experience some voice changes, including a possible increase in pitch, decreased volume, or vocal strength but these changes are often subtle. Also called presbyphonia or presbylaryngeus, these issues can develop due to vocal cord atrophy, diminished lung power, and lazy structures. The same findings are expected in puberphonia. So, treatment only actiates the vocal tract. That is Puberphonia treatment
Articulation Therapy:
This focuses on improving the physical production of the sound through exercises that strengthen soft palate and tongue muscles and improve coordination.
Phonological Therapy:
This addresses the underlying phonological patterns of speech, helping the individual understand and produce the sound correctly within the language system.
Exercises:
Examples include uvula positioning exercises, strengthening exercises, and repetition drills.
Visual and Auditory Feedback:
Using mirrors, diagrams, and listening to the correct sound helps individuals correct their production.
Individualized Plans:
Treatment plans to the specific needs of the individual, considering factors like the severity of the puberphonia and the individual's age and abilities.
UMAR:
Increase weight of the uvula. In olden days increasing the weight of the tongue was tried.
Why did this procedure not continue?.

Old age and puberphonia, same pathology.

Rhotacism

Rhotacism is a form of puberphonia. Puberphonia treatis similar to rhotacism training.
Rhotacism, the difficulty producing the "r" sound, is typically treated with speech therapy, focusing on exercises to improve tongue positioning, coordination, and muscle strength. This may include awareness exercises, visual cues (mirrors, diagrams), and articulation drills, gradually increasing the complexity of the sound in words, phrases, and sentences.

Uvular speech

Uvular speech for puberphonia
Uvular speech refers to consonant sounds produced by the back of the tongue (dorsum) against or near the uvula. Uvular sounds can be stops, fricatives, affricates, trills, or nasals.
Role in Speech:
The uvula helps in the articulation of certain sounds, particularly guttural sounds. It works with the soft palate to seal the nasal passage and direct airflow through the mouth, which is essential for producing specific phonetic sounds.

Head move

My friend wants to have a more manly voice. His voice is almost normal. I have given him some instructions to talk from the region of the uvula. 5 days he did the exercise. He was doing all sorts of small movements to improve the voice to be more manly. He moved the head  from right and left , up and down and waited for a few minutes and talked. He felt the sound was strong  and felt blowing in the ear and he felt, he got the manly voice. If anyone gives some explanation for this menovere and changes in frequency please contact me.

சங்கு மண்டபமும் எனது ஆய்வும்

Treat puberphonia by pharyngeal voice:
Pharyngeal voice, also known as "voce faringea" or the "witch's cackle," was a historical singing practice developed to extend their upper range. Puberphonia voice is considered weak, change into a more tenoral and powerful vocal quality. The concept of using the pharynx to modify resonance and extend vocal range is still relevant in modern puberphonia treatment techniques. Modern puberphonia treatment pharyngeal resonance by uvula manipulation to create a richer, more resonant tone, similar to the effects achieved by the historical pharyngeal voice.  Our concept developed from "Sangu Mandabam" .

Puberphonia, a pioneering research by Dr.M.Kumaeesan

PUBERPHONIA: A NOVEL APPROACH TO TREATMENT
Sudhakar Vaidya*, G. Vyas**

They referred to Dr.M.Kumaresans "puberphonia" research work as a pioneer.

Puberphonia. No reference is available except
from Dr M Kumerasan (Chennai), who has published his work
in book “A research work in Otorhinolaryngology” in 1992.
He used rush-miller (USA) laryngoscope and treated 11
patients up to publication of his research paper.(13).

It confirms that my research on boys talking in female tone started in 1992 itself, 33 years back. Now I have treated  and changed the life of 1560 cases of puberphonia. it's a world record.

Puberphonia voice becomes a habit

Puberphonia, also known as functional falsetto, is not a voice disorder where a person's voice doesn't change naturally during puberty. It's characterized by a high-pitched voice, breathiness, and low intensity. Puberphonia can  present as having physiological and psychological causes:  because of the persistent of child/ female like voice they are worried. They continue the same voice intensionally or unintentionally. Intentionally means they like to sing in high pitch because of their profession. Unintentionally means , they accept what God has given and what others tell. Others like to utilise you.

Uvula a source of sound

Air forcibly moves at the uvulopharyngeal complex (both Bernoulli's and Venturi effect works), similar to lip air blowing vocal musical instruments-flute.
Uvular complex in voice production.
†*******
Acoustic theory of voice production, also known as the source-filter theory, explains how speech sounds are created by a combination of a sound source (like the vibrating vocal folds) and a filter (the vocal tract). The source generates the initial sound, and the vocal tract modifies it through resonance, shaping the sound into recognizable speech sounds.
1. The Source:
Vocal Fold Vibration:
The primary source of sound for voiced sounds is the vibration of the vocal folds within the larynx.
Aspiration:
For voiceless sounds, air rushing through a narrow opening, like in fricatives, creates a source of noise.
Other Sources:
Other sources include transient sounds created during consonant production and turbulence during the airflow through the vocal tract.
Clearly indicate that we can produce voice by the vibration of any structure in the vocal tract. We can create more vibration in the uvular complex. This is the theory behind treatment for puberphonia by UMAR.

Manly voice

Steps to Develop More manly Voice
1.Practice Yawning: Mimic the act of yawning to stretch and relax your throat muscles. This helps open your throat, allowing sound to resonate more freely.

2.Diaphragmatic Breathing: by moving the hand from abdomen to head.

3.Humming: Gently hum while focusing on feeling the vibrations by keeping water in the throat.

4.Lip Trills: blowing air through closed lips.

5.Mouth and Nasal Resonance: Use sounds like "mmm" and "ng" to direct vibrations to your mouth .

How to get a manly voice
Rolling your throat, the same sound you make when gargling.

Hum a single note, lips closed. you'll notice the vibration is in the middle of your mouth, between your throat and lips.

Make the vibration back to your uvula (your throat). this will probably tickle and you wont be able to hold the note for long without discomfort. don't worry, you don't have to!

Hum with both the vibration in your throat AND in your mouth.
now, slowly open your mouth as you're making the noise.

what to practice for getting a manly voice

How to Develop a Deep & Manly Voice -
A more masculine-perceived sound can be achieved by modifying pitch, resonance, and/or loudness. Aim for a lower pitch, open your mouth more vertically, and get louder, but don't blow anyone overboard! The pharynx modifies pitch by vibration of the uvula and resonance with loudness. It is automatically created because uvula only directs more air to the nose to increase resonance and loudness.

Gender identity and bulling

Gender Identity: bulling
Some studies suggest that puberphonia might be linked to concerns about gender identity, particularly in male adolescents who may experience distress or confusion regarding their gender expression.  on Relationships:
While not a definitive barrier to marriage, puberphonia can create social obstacles. Some individuals with puberphonia have reported difficulty finding dates or partners due to societal perceptions and their own insecurities.
The unusual voice can lead to teasing and bullying from peers, impacting social interactions and self-esteem. Individuals with puberphonia may also face difficulty being heard on the phone, further isolating them.
Teachers, principals, parents, and lunchroom helpers at school can all help to stop bullying.
repeated unwelcomed or threatening behavior, including physical assault, threats, offensive comments, or intimidation.

High school students can learn how to handle bullying and harassment in our anti-bullying education program: Bullying: Imbalance of Power.

The Effects of Physical Bullying

Physical bullying does not just lead to injuries. All forms of bullying affect the targeted person's emotional and mental health.

Stages of puberphonia

Stages of puberphonia
***********************
One simple way to remember the criteria in defining puberphonia voice disorders are the six D's: deviance, dysfunction, distress, danger, defiance and defeatist.
1. Deviance: The culture and structure of society pressure individuals to be socially deviant.
2. Dysfunction: An unhealthy identity that can lead to problems with self-esteem and acceptance, difficulty tolerating strong emotions, and erratic actions.
3. Distress: An umbrella term for a range of conditions, including, anxiety, stress, or posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
4. Depression is the more-severe form of depression—persistent depressive disorder (PDD)
5. Defiance: A daring or bold resistance to authority, a challenge to meet in combat or in a contest stage of acceptance with confidence, control and commitment.
6. Defeatist: Accept with no hope, this results in a coward..

Human can talk

Redirected phonation from larynx to pharynx exercises to treat puberphonia.
********
Move the hand and talk, aim to reduce strain on the vocal folds and improve vocal function by creating a controlled flow of air. These exercises can help with larynx dysfunction, hoarseness, and other voice problems.
Pharyngeal speech involves using the pharynx (the throat), vibration of uvula as a sound source by forcing air from the lungs up into the pharynx and then into the oral cavity and nasal cavity. The air is then modified by the tongue, lips, and other articulators to produce speech sounds.
Advantages are many. This is the trick knowingly or unknowingly many people follow and talk without strain for many hours.
Human have two cavities at right angles, and the tongue at the angle between the two able to affect their geometries relative to speech production.

Redirecting phonation

Redirecting laryngeal and pharyngeal phonation involves techniques to alter the typical voice production mechanism by shifting the emphasis from the larynx to other parts of the vocal tract, such as the pharynx or oral cavity. This can be achieved through various exercises, including UMAR , utilities uvula to vibrate i and so vocal tracts to promote changes in laryngeal and pharyngeal activity. The goal is often to achieve a more forward, resonant, and easier voice production by reducing reliance on the larynx.
Benefits:Redirecting phonation can improve voice quality, reduce vocal strain, and enhance vocal flexibility with low pitch voice especially for individuals with vocal disorders or those seeking to improve their vocal technique and in particular puberphonia.

UMAR mechanism

Uvular Speech (Alaryngeal Speech):
Mechanism:
Creates an artificial glottis using the tongue, palate with uvula, or pharyngeal wall to produce sound. Air is directed from the pharynx, and the uvula vibrates against the other structures to create phonation.
Challenges:
It can  produce intelligible speech, particularly with puberphonia, normal  functioning larynx is available. A normal hidden low pitched voice is there which can be brought out by activation of the phonatory tract by UMAR.

UMAR- redirected phonation

UMAR control voice placement

Place the hand in the chest while speaking can help create a lower pitch voice by  vocal placement.
1. Physical Feedback:
Lightly massage or tap on your chest as you speak. This provides physical feedback to help you direct your breath and vocal sound lower.
2. Vocal Placement:
Focus on speaking from a lower part of your throat and chest, instead of from your head or nasal cavity.
3. Breath Support:
Use your chest muscles to support your voice, but avoid tension or strain.
4. Belly Breathing:
Engage your diaphragm by breathing deeply into your abdomen. This helps you access a deeper, more resonant voice.
5. Chest Voice Warm-ups:
Focusing on the vibration in your chest.
By combining these techniques.
Control voice placement and create a lower  pitch.

Puberphonia boys have low pitch voice

All puberphonia have their own low pitch voice also. Speek as if your voice is coming out from your throat rather than coming out of the mouth. Try massaging your chest at the same time to help you direct the sound lower

UMAR, recognised in Google.

Treatment Options given in Google:
For options are given. The second one is our research treatment. The name UMAR is given. uMAR is popular now.
1.Voice Therapy: Puberphonia is most often treated using voice therapy (vocal exercises) by speech-language pathologists or speech therapists with experience in treating voice disorders.
2.Larynx Manipulation: Techniques like uvula manipulation and resonance (UMAR) treatment can be used to help individuals achieve a consistent, comfortable, and age-appropriate voice.
3.Surgery: In some cases, surgery, such as Type-III Thyroplasty, may be considered to correct the voice.
4.Counseling: Counseling can help patients identify psychological factors contributing to the disorder and provide tools to address them.

UMAR lowering the larynx

Exercises to Lower the Pharynx and larynx.
1. Shaker Exercise:
This exercise involves lying on your back with your head raised off the pillow, and then gradually lifting your head higher and higher, engaging your throat muscles.
2. Mendelsohn Maneuver:
This exercise involves swallowing and consciously holding your Adam's apple high for a few seconds, strengthening the muscles responsible for swallowing.
3. Masako Maneuver:
This exercise involves extending your tongue out of your mouth and biting down gently, while swallowing, strengthening the posterior pharyngeal wall.
4. Super-Supraglottic Swallow:
This exercise involves taking a deep breath, holding it, and then bearing down as you swallow.
5. Head Turn:
Turning your head from shoulder to shoulder, as far as possible without causing pain, can help stretch and relax throat muscles.
6. Yawn, then Swallow:
Yawning and then swallowing can help lower the larynx and open the throat.
7. Hot Potato:
Imagine having a hot potato in your mouth and avoid touching the sides of your mouth, which can help widen the throat.
8. Giggle Posture:
Pretending something funny is happening and feeling a giggle in your throat can help relax and lower the larynx.
9. Flip-Top Head:
Rest your chin on the back of your hands with your elbows on a table and imagine raising your upper jaw, which can help widen the throat.
10. Tongue Stretch:
Extend your tongue as far as possible and say your telephone number, trying to maintain clarity, which can stretch throat muscles.
11. Hyoid shift Maneuver:
This exercise involves shifting the hyoid bone (a small bone in the neck) with a straw blowing which can help change the voice .

UMAR a sweet spot sympathetic pharyngeal voice

Most of my puberphonia boys are thin?
Less weight because the less thoracic expansion brought about by their almost nil exercises in breath control results in decreased oxygen intake potential with its concomitant decrease in appetite and the less ability to digest - and less food.It may look funny but it is true.

UMAR Impact on Formants:
Changes in the shape of the vocal tract, including alterations due to uvula movement, can affect the frequency of the formants, which are the resonant frequencies that give vowels their distinctive quality.
UMAR Impact on Perceived Pitch:
While the fundamental frequency (the basic pitch of the voice) might not be significantly altered by uvula movement, changes in the formants can lead to a perception of a different pitch or tone.

Persistence of child voice (feminine) in male adult is called Puberphonia. The voice is characterized by a weak quality and small dynamic range.
New technique in management.
The new technique in management.
The procedure is done as an outpatient procedure. Under surface anaesthesia (dental spray) with a curved long artery forceps uvula is cached. With a UMAR needle a silk thread is placed in the uvula.
ask him to say a few words with an open mouth vibrating the uvula , like snoring. Slowly he will get the masculine voice. It is continued with repetition. The voice should come from soft palate, not from the larynx.
5 days continuous practice
1. Xbox technique
2. Piano practice
3. AI doll practice
4. Audio visual practice with the karaoke
5. Practice with treadmill
6. Practice with vibration
7. Stage practice with mic with virtual audience
Above all, continuous training for 5 days, all will be in the hospital for 5 days with group therapy. 5th day thread from the uvula removed and mostly all get the manly voice and return home happily.

UMAR for clear speech in old age

To achieve a "pharyngeal voice in puberphonia" or a voice that resonates more in the throat, you can try placing your hand on one side of your mouth and focusing on a relaxed, open throat while speaking, aiming for a sound that feels like it's coming from the back of your throat.
How to achieve it:
Imagine the back of your throat open and sending the sound outwards. Focus on uvula as snoring, vowel shapes to find what resonates best in the pharyngeal space.
Diaphragmatic Breathing: Practice diaphragmatic breathing by UMAR to support the voice and prevent tension in larynx. One can sound as much as possible, but never injury to the larynx , because vocal cords never get vibration.

puberphonia treatment by pharyngeal voice

Male at the age of voice break: create pharyngeal voice, utilise uvula:
Make The Voice Low Pitch: Lift the Soft Palate with uvula
The larynx isn’t the only part of your body that shapes the sound that comes out as you speak. The mouth and nose are also involved. The velum – soft palate and uvula in the back of your mouth do quite a bit to control the tone of your voice. The velum opens and closes the air passage between your nose and throat. If the velum is wide open, your voice will travel up and out through your nose, giving you a nasal sound. It is quite helpful if one is trying to hit the high notes with sinus resonance by utilising the uvula to direct more air to the sinuses. It is good for a deep, masculine voice when the air is sent to the sinuses to vibrate.

How to diagnose and treat puberphonia

Voice measurement
The speech sound can be recorded using an Android phone. It will give the frequency. An adult female typically falls between 165 and 255 Hz and an adult male between 85 and 180 Hz.
500 𝘏𝘻 = crying baby
300 𝘏𝘻 = crying toddler
250 𝘏𝘻 = pre-pubescent boy/ girl
125-137 Hz = male 18 years old
107 -146 = male.
Diagnosing puberphonia only by pitch measurement. Just hear their voice and diagnose. No other tests needed.
All treatment, including surgery on the vocal cords, speech therapy, laryngeal reshaping and other voice practice will result in redirecting phonation from larynx to pharynx, ie, vocal cords to uvula.
This is my observation in treating 1550 cases of puberphonia successfully.

puberphonia new concepts

Puberphonia.
We are able to arrive at twelve new concepts.
They are:
1. Puberphonia is a common problem and needs immediate treatment.
2. Voice pitch assessment is mostly the only test required.
3. Redirected phonation treats puberphonia.
4. Get an ancestral voice after treatment.
5. Boys with a high-pitched voice have an increased chance of homosexual activity.
6. The uvula is an accessory speech organ.
7. Above all, the recovered boys are very grateful to the doctor.
8. Diphthongia and diplophonia are two sounds of different pitches. We found that one voice is a pharyngeal voice and another is a laryngeal voice.
9. In voiced sound, the vocal cords produce sounds; instead, in voiceless sound, the uvula modulates the airflow. On this view, it is better to avoid any sort of therapy for the vocal cord.
11. Puberphonia boys can produce a low pitched voice on coughing, snoring and even shouting.
12.In general,  suicide statistics reveals, common in 20 to 30 age groups in male. The common etio pathogenesis is puberphonia.

Redirect phonation

Puberphonia myths and misconceptions
There are a number of proposed causes for the development of Puberphonia, enumerated as the aetiology of  puberphonia, can be both organic (biological) and psychogenic (psychological) in nature.
1.It is not a rare problem. It is poorly diagnosed and treated.  Puperphonia is not a rare disorder. We have treated 1,000 puberphonia males in our small centre. The gravity and size of the problem are too great to be recognized, underestimated, or ignored. And we had a high patient volume, with an average of 3 to 5 puberphonia cases for treatment per week. We did a sample study in five different high schools during a health camp. On average, two puberphonias were recognised per school of 1000 boys. The number of puberphonia should be higher. We are not able to reveal the voice change to the boys or their parents because of various social factors.  Why is the treatment of puberphonia not taken seriously? The gravity of the problem and its magnitude are so great that they go unnoticed, underestimated, and ignored. It is misunderstood that the puberphonia problem is in the vocal cords or voice box. Even though everyone knows the structure and function of the vocal cord and larynx normal in puberphonia they continue to correct the vocal cord and larynx. They fail to get the required result. Furthermore, humans are content with what they have.
2.Hormonal, similarly, at puberty, men's bodies produce an excess of testosterone, which causes changes in several parts of the body, including the voice. For starters, a guy’s, also known as the voice box, grows bigger. The examination of these patients should include a complete physical examination, including a genital examination as well. Secondary sexual characteristics should be assessed; hypogonadism should be ruled out. A genetic origin, and family history of Puberphonia are proposed. We tested the testosterone level in 100 cases of Puberphonia as a sample study. Their levels ranged between 310 and 675 ng/dL.
3.It is not psychological in nature. As they are left out of society, they are considered indifferent.
4.It is not due to habitual use. They may try everything to break the voice. It has been concluded that it is not curable.
5.Puberphonia boys are not smart or intelligent. They will have a normal life if they are not disturbed by society.
6.It is not due to anatomical reasons in the vocal tract. They have normal voices while coughing and yawning.
7.It is not neurological in nature. After puberphonia treatment, they lead a normal life.
8.Puberphonia is not the result of poor parenting. Puberphonia is not a disease, it is a life experience.
9.It is easily curable by uvula manipulation and sinus resonance.
10.Our study concludes that our treatment for puberphonia, an outpatient treatment involving uvula manipulation and breath of fire therapy, not only improves the voice, but also the personality of puberphonia clients.

Kumaresan voice ind x

Kumaresan pitch index
1. Inaudible Sound: The simplest noise reduction works primarily by lowering efforts to talk.
2. Vocal fatigue, loss of intonation or expression,
3. Child voice: when they talk about their feelings or appropriately express them.
4. Ladies Voice: Warm and welcoming, a captivating voice entices. It sounds more like it is coming
out of the heart than the brain. It has pleasant, non-nasal tones.
5. Double Voice: The lower range of your voice is known as the chest voice, while the upper range is
known as the head voice. Lack of practice in mixing one's middle voice or register is a common
source of the discordant sensation that many people report experiencing while speaking. When
singing, the mix acts as a transition between the lower and higher registers.
6. Nasal voice is inappropriate because it increases airflow through the nose during speech.
7. Not stronger voice, manly, voice having no preference, or being uninterested, since one doesn't want
to indicate having any strong feelings
8. High Pitch: Most people think that women who speak with somewhat high-pitched voices are
prettier, younger, and more feminine.
9. Hoarseness is characterized by a shift in vocal quality or pitch, often resulting in a raspy or husky
tone.
10. Breathy voice: A breathy, airy singing voice means too much air with the sound of voice escaping
through the mouth. This causes a soft, breathy tone that's hard to hear.
