Worldwide prevalence of puberphonia is not well established. One often-cited estimate suggests it occurs in about one in 900,000 people.(30 years back one report in a conference ).However, some clinical studies, like one from India, (Dr. M. Kumaresan, did in 3 colleges))found higher rates, with about 3.5 percent of voice disorder cases being puberphonia. Overall, it’s considered rare, but likely underdiagnosed, so more population-based research is needed.
